On Friday I went to get my nails done at a salon I hadn't been to before. I was pleasantly surprised by the great atmosphere, beautiful interior and amazing service. It was my first experience with gel nail polish as well, but it definitely won't be the last. Basically, if you haven't tried it either, the difference is that you put your fingers under a light, which "bakes"the nail polish and it dries that way. It last extra long too - up to a month. It's convenient if you have a busy schedule and rarely find time to do your nails or are tired of constantly having them chip or peel. It's a bit pricier too, but it saves you so much time, so I think it's worth the splurge every now and then.
